In 1823 at the Milatos Cave, many men, women, and children were slaughtered by the army of Hasan Pasa, after a long siege. In the memory of this sacrifice, an engraved stone was placed at the entrance of the cave, while inside, a small chapel and an ossuary where built.


The Cave of Milatos is free for visiting. For someone who wants to see it all, a flash light is necessary. It has many small rooms in different levels and is quite easy to explore it.


The magnificent view of the gorge and the nature around, will compensate anyone who goes there.
